I □% agree with the generic statement that Logitecs build quality has gone to shit. Tapping the headset works but it keeps dropping out for me. (Damaging the membrane, the screws did fall in there, because I'm an idiot). Only warning is: be careful when you unscrew the external screws around the membrane, behind the membrane there is a magnet that will attract screws and if they fall in there it's gonna be quite difficult to remove them, not to mention the risk of damaging, thank god that didn't happen to me. Probably there is a video about the teardown, but I used that one. Also there is a sort of white clip hold the PCB down, pull it to the side and the PCB will come off.įinally the flat cable is also different, instead of being parallel to the PCB it's perpendicular, in order to remove it you need to lift the black plastic piece on the connector, pull the black plastic straight up and then the flat cable will come out too. In order to do so you need to unscrew at least one of the screw holding the plastic piece around the buttons (the one adjacent to the plastic for the LEDs), the reason why is that the volume wheel does not come off the PCB, and by removing that screw you can wiggle the plastic piece holding it down enough to remove the PCB. There are only a few things to note, the PCB is upside down when you open the headset, you need to completely remove it. I used this video, which is for the G933, however, the power switch mechanism is the same, and in fact, the same fix worked. Pushing the power switch in, out, dragging it to the side, all things that can help, but it's annoying to do so every time.Īll I did was open the thing and disassemble the power switch, turns out inside there is this weird gue stuff, clean it out, works perfectly. I needed to wiggle the power switch in order for it to turn on both side, sometimes it would turn them on but the quality would be trash, sometimes one side would be louder. I've also had this problem, with two headsets the first one I sent back, the second one I "repaired". Hello, hope this could be helpful to whoever wants to fix this sort of permanently, this worker for me at least. I am aware that's anecdotal lol, but my point is it seems to work great for my use. I can have mic & audio in any room in my house except my bedroom (diagonally the opposite side of my 3 bedroom house). Overall, the hardware quality aint bad, and I found the virtual surround is flawless! I was shocked fr when I discovered each ear only has 1 driver □ also the working distance for the digital transponders shocks me. At the end of the day, it's still a silly design □ * thankfully, they *nearly compensated for this f*ckup by designing the shell so that the battery is easily accessible with no tools. Gotta either remove battery** or keep thems plugged in □ The "off" position isn't actually Off it powers the drivers for analog input (can plug mp3 player / phone in), so this will deplete good, healthy, fully charged batteries in just a few days. that said, they made a STUPID design choice.Have only had this malfunction so far □ I've had to fiddle my on/off switch a total of 3 times since my original comment and use thems daily (turning them "off"* after each use). I go through phases (ie winter) where I game a LOT, like SOMEtimes when I am hella depressed even + 8-10hr lol. IDK man, I bought my pair (G933 IIRC) used, BNIB condition, for $35USD like 3 years ago.
